My Notes: The Graduated Cables Square is a wonderful exploration of cable patterns, and it is not for the faint of heart! If you look closely, you'll see I missed a cable, and missed that the crosses at the end of Row 5 (and its reps) were in front, not to the back like the rest. (Take note!) As I look back on my blanket, I'll remember that March is when I had Influenza and couldn't brain properly... I recommend good lighting, a table or lap desk, reading each line carefully, and patience. Once the first few rows are established, it gets a lot easier (even when making mistakes). But don't skip out on making the bobbins! You'll want to pin each bobbin to its section as you go - juggling full skeins here is just asking for trouble. But by the time it's done, you'll wonder why it was so hard to get started!

Sizing: My square came up short, so I added a round of Hdc. But everyone's gauge is different, so be sure to measure as you go! Learn how to adjust for size HERE to ensure all your squares are the same size. Remember that the 12″ is measured across and up and down, not diagonally/corner to corner.

What I Did:

I used aSusan Bates US-J, 6.0 mm Twist and Lock hook, andRed Heart With Love, and my color scheme was as follows (see pics for more info on placement):

Color A: Black
First Section of B:
Cornsilk
Second Section of B:
Mallard
Third Section of B:
Boysenberry
Fourth Section of B:
Merlot

This square required a mild blocking, so I used the wet blocking method.
